Mortice Door Locks & LatchesWhat is a Mortice Lock/latch?A mortice lock is set within a pocket cut into the door. They are used in most doors in domestic properties including bedrooms, bathrooms and on the front entrance door, where it is most commonly referred to as a "chubb lock". Available as sashlocks, deadlocks, bathroom locks and latches, as well as higher spec Armoured Plate Glass and BGA Casement locks. Mortice latches, typically, do not feature a bolt in their design. They are generally used to keep doors closed as opposed to locked. However, some latches do have deadlocking features which allows for the latch to be locked into place preventing it from being withdrawn when depressing the handle. DID YOU KNOW?
