A British Standard 5 Lever sashlock is a mortice lock that conforms to British Standard BS3621. It features a latch and a deadbolt. The latch is operated by lever handle and the deadbolt is operated by key. They are specified by Insurance Companies and also recommended by the police for use on front doors.

British Standard BS3621:2007 locks should be fitted to all external doors to comply with insurers requirements. To meet BS3621:2007, a must (in addition to other requirements):
Have at least 1000 key differs
Have at least 5 levers (with anti-picking features such as false notching)
Have a bolt with a minimum throw of 20mm
Feature anti drill plates on both sides of the lock
