Codelocks free locksmith training - Clever marketing strategy!

In the current financial crisis companies are coming up with a wide variety of strategies to cut costs and increase sales. Whilst most of these strategies involve blasting us with low budget tv adverts or blatant misselling, Codelocks have set an example of how it could be done.
In March, Codelocks, the designer and manufacturer of mechanical and electronic push button locks announced it would be providing free access control training for locksmiths over the summer and recently extended these courses until the end of the year.
Now, whilst this is clearly an attempt to encourage locksmiths to use their products, the idea is sound. Codelocks sell more of their products because the locksmiths they trained feel more familiar with the products and so, are more inclined to use it over a rival product. Makes perfect sense to me. And all for the cost of a days wages for the trainer and a buffet lunch!
The course includes a half day session covering an introduction to the company and the access control market followed by 3 practical sessions covering installation, servicing and operation of various codelocks. They end the course with a session covering new developments and business opportunities.
It's not exactly subtle but it could be very effective and I think Codelocks should be praised for finding a mutually beneficial way of promoting their product.
